RULY the most MAGICAL and unique area in Fairfax County, Virginia, Wedderburn has been known by the secret name of "Midgetville" for the better part of a century. Mysteries abound in these diminutive cottages next to a towering hemlock circle built for gatherings. The open areas are wreathed with spring wisteria, fern, and bluebells, and the remains of secret gardens. Owls, woodpeckers, fox, and deer were formerly protected here. Now this jewel of old Vienna is in the death grip of a developer. Help preserve Wedderburn/Midgettville as a park along the W&OD Trail. Read more history of the area.

Through the links on this site, you can see photographs of the cottages, learn the stories broth fact and fiction, and send messages to government and media to help protect this area as a park along the W&OD Rail Trail.

Located near the intersection of Cedar Lane and the W&OD trail in Vienna and Dunn Loring, Virginia, the village is now the death grip of Elm Street Development Group of McLean, Virginia, who will, if not stopped, erase all traces of the cottages, trees, and the stream in order to erect densely-packed houses and storm drains.
